Electric EJK heaters
Heaters type EJK are used to heat up water in open and closed metal tanks, especially in enamelled hot utility water tanks. In such tanks, protected against corrosion by cathodic method, with the use of magnesium anodes or impressed current anodes, heating elements should be partially isolated electrically from the tank’s walls. Thanks to that, in a tank full of water, electrochemical potentials’ difference between heating elements made of copper or special stainless steel, and tank made of carbonic steel, is partially compensated. That in a significant way increases durability of heating elements and lifespan of a magnesium anode.
In EJK heaters insulation of heating elements was created by placing them in casing made entirely of plastic, including a threaded part. For partial connection of heating elements with a tank a grounding resistor was used with an appropriate resistance, which incorporates these elements to cathodic anticorrosion protection of a tank. Such solution provides an optimum protection of electric heater in enamel tank against accelerated electrochemical corrosion, while maintaining cathodic protection of a tank and a lifespan of a magnesium anode.
